Fine wood refinishing and restoration
Questions about fine wood? We recently worked on a very elegant house in Cortlandt Manor. It has beautiful built-in wood shelving, paneling, and architectural woodwork throughout. When we first encountered the wood though, the finish needed freshening up.
Importance of paying attention to detail
Plenty of attention to detailed sanding, staining, and varnish were needed to truly bring out the wood’s majestic beauty. It isn’t even nearly as stunning in these photos as in real life.
Still, with these pictures you do get some idea of how stately and classic fine quality mahogany wood looks when its natural beauty is properly restored. We did similar refurbishing work to the characterful wood beams on the tall ceiling to great effect.
