Cleaning Your Painted Surfaces

Here is Paint Track’s compiled list of (some) best ways of cleaning your home and refreshing your surfaces*:

Step 1: Keep it simple

Keep it simple with a sponge or a soft cloth, and use some soapy water. Dishwasher soap is best. Dip your sponge/cloth in the soapy water and remember to wring it out before you use it, we don’t want to damage your walls with too much water. Clean in a circular motion. Use a dry cloth to dry the wall. This is the simplest on our list but it is very effective and very safe.

Step 2: Scuff Marks

To get rid of scuff marks and spot clean, a paste of baking soda and water sometimes does the trick. Mix together your paste and apply it to the problem surface. Remove your paste using a wrung-out sponge, and then dry the wall with a soft cloth.

Step 3: Deodorizers

Surprisingly, using vinegar as a cleaning solution is very common as it is a natural cleaner that deodorizes and kills mildew without creating chemical fumes. Fill up a bucket of water and put a cup of white vinegar inside (you can drop some essential oils inside too for better scent!). Dip a sponge/cloth in the solution and wring it out before you clean. For drying the wall, you can use a dry cloth or set up a fan that will help the vinegar dissipate.
